Democracy Works Foundation (DWF) invites you to its 27 July Political Cafe.

2016 MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS – HOW CAN WE, THE PEOPLE HOLD POLITICAL PARTIES ACCOUNTABLE, AND DO WE?

South Africans appear to keep voting for political parties as if they are football teams – you remain loyal to your team despite the outcome.

Are our current political parties and leadership still relevant to voters and how can we ensure that they are held accountable and effect meaningful change in delivering democracy at a local level?

Join Nompumelelo Runji (independent analyst and author) in conversation with Ebrahim Fakir (Manager, Governance Institutions and Processes – EISA), Susan Booysen (Professor, Wits School of Governance) and Natasha Marrian (Political Editor – Business Day).

DATE:    Wednesday 27 July 2016
PLACE: The Bannister Hotel, 9 de Beer Street, Braamfontein – Johannesburg
TIME:    17:30 Refreshments will be served before the discussion at 18:30.
