This video features Part Two  of the discussion at our third Political Cafe on 27 July 2016, “The 2016 Municipal Elections- “How can we, the people hold political parties accountable and do we?” at The Bannister Hotel,  Johannesburg.

This clip features a panel comprising: Ebrahim Fakir, Prof. Susan Booysen and Natasha Marrian with Nompumelelo Runji facilitating the discussion. Some of the key points discussed looks at voting patterns, accountability and the power of voting to effect change in the 2016 local government elections.


Connie is a seasoned media professional with over 18 years experience working in the field of Development Communications and Television Production. Her extensive media and communications work include managing communication and media programmes, and campaigns for various local and international NGOs and government. She has worked in broadcast media as a TV and documentary producer and production manager for current affairs, factual programmes and documentaries for local and global broadcasters. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Drama and English, a Certificate in Media and Communications from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and a Certificate in Copyright from the Thompson Foundation.
